Hello all and welcome to our new website!

We hope that this site will help us share information more easily, since there are still restrictions on Facebook posts.

I recently came across a new book by John Lord: Aging and Elder Care, Time for Transformation. From the back cover, “With practical strategies for advocacy and innovative community approached, Lord inspires readers to envision a future where elder care is inclusive, person-centred, and respectful of the dignity of all elders”.

We’re all aging and, if we don’t plan for our own futures, we’ll be stuck with whatever is available. Given that new housing projects can easily take 3+ years until completion, we’d better start the discussions. There are other related issues to consider, including health at home, transportation, and healthy food delivery.

Are you interested in being part of a discussion group, talking about ideas from this book? Maybe weekly meetings, an hour or so during the day? I spoke with the author and he’s volunteered to join us on a Zoom call, if we’d like.
